Summer is at a close, and I must say, I am so excited for fall! But I just had to share this beautiful summer bridal session from Amy Nicole Photography. A simple lace gown and a floppy straw hat are the perfect accessories for any summer bride.
Today’s wedding is a true testament to how lovely an affair you can create with the helping hands of friends and family. This DIY wedding from Sarah Becker Photography couldn’t be any sweeter! I love the bride’s romantic draped gown and the charming centerpieces.
Clayton and I got engaged in January and decided we wanted to get married in May, after my college graduation. That didn’t give us long to plan! Our goal was to do as much as we could ourselves, not worrying about the details, and enjoying being with each other during the process. Given the time and budget, many of our friends and family pitched in and worked really hard to give us a beautiful wedding and I have to give the credit to them. My mom was amazing and spent hours crafting the little details like the silverware holders and pennant flags. My mom’s bff from college did the flowers and was also the mastermind decorator. Our church family prepared all the food and a our dear friend at Harmony House Coffee Company provided a coffee bar.
Our favorite parts of the day were the ceremony and dancing at the reception. The ceremony was very meaningful for both of us. We wrote our own vows and were surrounded by our family and closest friends. It was short and sweet, and there were definitely some tears. Dancing at the reception was sensational; everybody got out on the dance floor and went to town. And we were partying the hardest.
We really wanted our guests to feel welcome and comfortable. Many of our guests travelled from far away to celebrate with us which meant the world! The atmosphere at the reception was so warm and joyful. The handmade decorations gave everything a homey feel which was just what we wanted.
