Blue Coastal DIY Wedding

You are going to love this summery coastal wedding from Courtney Bowlden Photography! The blue and white color palette was perfect for this waterside event. Most of the details were DIY, the couple and their crew creating everything from the signage to beer tap stand to candy bar.

My vision for our wedding was I wanted it to be classy and cute. The color theme we chose was light and powder blues. We also used navy and gold and mixed in some light blush colors. We wanted to get married at a private estate near the water. The Admiral’s House is literally our dream house. We love the colonial look and then the breathtaking views of the water and downtown Seattle.

My wedding dress was very detailed with lace and beading. The bridesmaids wore light blue dresses with a gold belt. The groom and groomsmen wore navy suits with light blue bow tie (groom) and ties (groomsmen). The wedding was cocktail attire for the guests.

The most important to us was to create a fun event for everyone. We wanted everyone to have a good time. That is why we did a DIY snack bar, a big dance floor, yard games, photo booth and a DIY beer stand.

Our wedding flowers were light blue hydrangeas with white roses and blush roses. We also mixed in greenery and all the bouquets looked very organic. We did all the decorations ourselves. We bought all the decorations and made all the signs. My dad built a beer tap stand which was awesome. We also did the whole candy and snack bar ourselves.

Our wedding cake was 3 levels. We had it made with 2 different flavors. Chocolate peanut butter cake and coconut blackberry cake. It was watercolor painted and had flowers on top of it with a Mr. and Mrs. Alcorn topper. For favors we did a candy bar with bags for guests to fill and take home.
