Classic Glam Florida Wedding

I love how today’s glam Florida wedding from Stephanie A Smith can be big, yet feel so intimate. The wedding was very family-centric, with the bride wearing her grandmother’s ring and the groom had cufflinks from his grandfather. The bride even did a first look with her grandparents, which is such an adorable idea!

Our main focus with the overall feel of the wedding was classic, timeless, and most importantly FUN. Navy and champagne were our colors. We got married in an Episcopal Church in downtown Tampa and the reception was just a few blocks away. I am from Tampa which made the location an easy choice. My (now husband) and I currently live in his hometown of Mobile, AL. Having friends and family traveling from all over the country, we chose downtown for our location so guests would have everything easily accessible to them during the weekend.

For what seemed to a big blur there were also so many moments that are still so vivid in my mind. I loved the relaxed feel in the hotel room while getting ready with my bridesmaids, mom, and aunt. I did a “first look” with my dad which was really special. A BIG favorite was looking at Thomas down the aisle for the first time.

The food/bar and band were the highest on our priority list. We had so many people taking their time to celebrate our marriage we wanted to make sure they got to really enjoy themselves as well! We had a good friend who graciously did all of our paper goods for us. In our Out-of-Town Guest Bags we included an outline of The United States which depicted each city that guests traveled from. Our friend also hand painted a fun map of the Downtown Tampa area depicting our venue locations and other landmarks which was included in the bags as well.

But my overall favorite was probably all the time we got to spend on the dance floor with loved ones. My heart breaks for brides and grooms who say you don’t get to enjoy your own wedding because we had the time of our lives!
