Blush and Gold Wedding

There are lots of sequins and love shared in this charming blush and gold wedding captured by Megan Vaughan. I love the soft, yet glam color palette and the bride really took a lot of time to create meaningful details. Her tribute to her late grandpa is especially sweet. My favorite detail are the vintage tea cups at their hot chocolate and tea station to help guests warm up.

I wanted our wedding to be classically vintage with a hint of glam. I decided to use a neutral palette with creams, whites, golds, and blush tones to help create the “vintage glam” look. I wanted to create a fall wedding that felt romantic, classic, and cozy. I fell in love with an old, historical church in downtown that captured my heart. It was the perfect spot to say “I do” to my best friend. Our reception was held in a historic ballroom downtown that was filled with market lights, sequins, and lots of special details.

My grandpa passed away a month before our wedding day, so we wanted to honor his life in little ways. I had his picture in a locket around my bouquet and my Nan sewed a heart from his old blue shirt into my dress. It was so special to have those little reminders of him so close to me on our wedding day. Before he passed away, my Pop (grandpa) insisted that we have apple pie at our wedding because “not everyone likes wedding cake.” To honor him, we had special apple pies made.

Hearing our pastor say “You may kiss your bride!” and pronounce us husband and wife was definitely a highlight. It seemed so surreal after we had been imagining this day for years. Then hearing the wedding bells of the old church chime after tying the knot was the perfect ending to our ceremony.

For reception decor, we used sequin tablecloths, but I wanted to add some vintage touches as well. I thought books would be the perfect idea, the only problem was I couldn’t find books in our color scheme. We decided to paint books to match our color scheme and it turned out perfectly. We had countless DIY projects and handmade details that went into making our wedding day so special. My mom and I worked together to create the custom chalkboard signs on our own and they were the perfect personal touch. To help create the cozy atmosphere I was wanting on that cold November day, we created a hot beverage bar with a vintage chest filled with teas, hot chocolate, and toppings.

We both wanted to make sure our wedding was a true celebration of our relationship and the covenant we were entering before God and our closest friends and family. We wanted our guests to see our love for each other throughout the entire day.
