Rustic Mountain Wedding

Sharing today this intimate and rustic Whistler mountain wedding from Christie Graham today. I love the simple and chic bohemian vibe. Especially the casual white bridesmaid dresses and their fun wraps for fall.

Paul and I first met 10 years ago in  Whistler, BC. We both love the mountains and they have always been a significant part of our lives. In June of 2012 we were engaged in Chamonix France at the Aiguille Du Midi. We both never had any doubts that Whistler would be the perfect place for us to get married. On September 28th we exchanged our vows at The Edgewater Lodge in Whistler. It is nestled right in on Green Lake with incredible views of all the surrounding mountains.  We chose this venue because it catered to the theme of what we wanted our wedding to be: simple, rustic and charming.

The day could not have been any more perfect. Everything came together beautifully even though it was raining harder than we could have ever imagined. Our talented photographer, Christie Graham, did an outstanding job of documenting the special moments we shared with each other, our family and our friends.  She gave us amazing direction and made us all feel very comfortable. She seemed to know the look and feel we were going for and captured the entire day better than we could have ever asked for. Although we didn’t plan for the rain it ended up making the whole day so much more intimate and we feel in the end it made the day even more special.

It was important to us that our wedding was personal and unique to us which is why we chose to do all of our own planning, projects and decorations. We wrapped mason jars in jute wrap, votive candles in lace, and we bought different vintage picture frames for table numbers. Paul spent time cutting and staining wood pieces for our bride and groom signs, as well as our wedding arrow. I made party favors out of personalized ribbon from etsy.com, lavender satchels, truffled caramels and chocolate covered espresso beans. We didn’t want to have a slideshow but did want to share photographs of our childhood and lives together so we decided on a vintage door gallery wall. We decided to hinge together 4 old doors. After Paul had painted the doors white and distressed them, we tacked on an assortment of unique frames to display our lives visually this way instead.
