If you are a fan of details, today’s rustic fall wedding captured by Mike B Photography is full of them! The bride is an interior designer and created a ton of handmade details for her intimate wedding. I love the bottles of glitter for the ceremony toss!
I am an Interior Designer and professional party planner. I did my own wedding! We had a limited budget and wanted it to be a casual affair that represented who we are and where we came from. I designed the entire wedding as well as putting it together with help from my now husband and our kids. The flowers were simply wild flowers and milk glass vases. The tables I designed and my now husband and I built. The chairs I rented from a consignment shop for $1 a chair.
I rented a piano and placed under the tree where we got married. I sang to my husband after I walked up the aisle. I had a bag piper walk me and the kids “down the aisle”. I found an old door and my husband stood it up in the middle of the field to represent the entrance to our ceremony. We walked through it to him. We surrounded the door with hay bails and mums. Hay bails were from the farmer next door. I covered hay bails with coffee bean burlap bags. This door is now installed in our family home. We are reminded of our wedding each time we walk through it!
I designed our wedding cake and my girlfriend made it. On our dance my husband planned fireworks. He had them set up on the beach before the ceremony and his friends lit them off as we danced!
My children sang with the band a song for us! I had home made apps and self serve bar waiting for my guests as they arrived in the field. Everyone ate and drank as they were waiting for us and the ceremony to begin. I took all my patio and some inside furniture and took it out to the front yard to make lounge areas at the party. Danced all night under the stars and ate and drank …. all was merry!
