Real Wedding | Rustic Glam Cotton Mill Wedding

Warning: This wedding is pretty much amazing! If you’ve ever wondered what it’d be like for glam Barbie to get married at a cotton mill, this wedding is it. I love all the sweet DIY details and the amazing ceremony decor! It is all seriously stunning!

The gorgeous bride Sydney shares all the details:

I really wanted the wedding to have a vintage rustic feel while still maintaining the barbie doll wedding I always wanted with all of the pink. I thought the entire day was the perfect fairytale.

My favorite memory of the day was definitely the first look. We were so glad we chose to do it that way. It was so nice to have our first look and then just have a few minutes that we could actually talk and enjoy being with each other. We wouldn’t have had that special time had we waited for our first look to be during the ceremony.

I got a lot of my DIY inspiration from wedding blogs. Almost all the decor was DIY. The window panes were by far my favorite decor item. I told my sweet dad about my idea of wanting window panes behind us in the ceremony and he found all the fabulous window panes. We made the yarn chandelier, wedding programs, and the picture frame that held all of the hanging pictures. We also made all of the centerpieces. The taller vases were all thrifted from several thrift stores in Chattanooga and we made the mason jar candle holders with twine. We made all the white tissue poms. Almost everything that I could make, I tried to make. I could not have done it without my wonderful parents, husband, and maid of honor. They helped me make everything. And my parents and some of their friends put everything together the day of so that I could relax and enjoy the day. I love DIY because it really makes the wedding something that you created and its so much fun.

My advice for brides planning now is hire a wedding planner or stylist if you can. I didn’t but I really wish I would have because that would have taken a lot of stress off me and my family. Also,
my BIGGEST advice is to never forget the real reason that you are getting married. You are marrying your best friend.. so don’t forget to enjoy every second of that.
