The most meaningful detail of our wedding is our vows, which we are writing privately and sharing with each other a week before the wedding. As far as the tangible/visible details, the most meaningful detail is probably the Persian sofreh (a table with lots of symbolic decorations) that my future mother-in-law is arranging for the ceremony, which will otherwise be pretty traditional and Protestant.

The food is a big way that we will add personal details to our wedding. We handpicked the local cheeses that will be served at cocktail hour, included our favorite dishes at dinner, and decided to use our favorite local cupcakery to make the best cupcakes ever in lue of a wedding cake. For our favors, my mom is making fudge (one of my favorite desserts she makes), and my fiance's mom is making spiced pecans, which are delicious. For us, food has allowed us to make the day unique to us.

We definitely have the "Something Old" covered in our wedding - my engagement ring is my fiance's grandmothers from the 1940s, my grandmother's garter will be wrapped around my bouquet (doesn't stretch like it used too!), and my veil will be my mother's veil without the hat part (yikes!). So it's meaningful to have something from previous weddings on both my side and my fiance's. Helps bring everything together!

Our whole wedding is going to be so special. The groom's father is marrying us, we'll have an antique family bible from each family in the ceremony, along with pictures of our parents and grandparent's weddings at our reception, my aunt is making the cake, the whole wedding/reception is DIY even down to my headpiece, but my very favorite part is our own vows and that my sweet groom will be playing and singing me a song at the ceremony. Only 23 days left until our wedding!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this orchid bridal shoot! The different colors make the bride look exquisite in the gorgeous pink gown. It kind of gives a fantasy look to the entire theme.

I've been super bumming thinking about how my amazing grandparents won't be at my weddig(all 4 of them have passed away the last couple years). I was sooo lucky growing up, having really loving and awesome grandparents, so I plan on honoring each of them at my wedding. One thing I'm planning is having a cigar roller for guests, my grandfather loved a great cigar. So, we'll have a little cigar stand with Grandpa Buddy's name on it!

The most striking and meaningful detail about our upcoming wedding on Septemder is our wedding invitations. We made a video of our best moments from our childhood till now, filled with jokes and home videos, truly capturing who we really are and gave them away to the most important people in our lifes. Our parents and siblings were laughing and crying at the same time. It was priceless!

I have a couple of details that are really important to me, first I am having a pair of pearls my grandfather gave me when I was little made into earrings for me to wear. He picked them up when he was in Japan for World War II. Second, I found the first rose my fiance ever gave to me in a box with a bunch of my jewelry. He gave it to me in high school long before we started dating, but since it was the first rose a guy had ever given to me I held on to it. I'm going to put the rose in a display box to have at the wedding to share with the guests.

Thanks for sharing Gema Blanton's photos. I just thought I would let you know that the location of the shoot is Gunter's Greenhouse in Richardson, TX. It was a pleasure for me to do the bouquet and hairpiece featuring their gorgeous orchids.

I am so excited because something bad went into something good.
The girl making my bouquet crapped out on me. *sad face* However, because of it I'm making it on my own. I have papers written on by each of the wedding guests and each person's papers will be made into a flower.

Yes, I'm having an origami bouquet that I'm making, and it's so meaningful for me because I AM making it, not someone else and that many of the flowers are words of love written by the guests. So i'll have something from each of them. It is stressful but I LOVE this so much.

Here is a picture of what I'm making. http://www.capitolromance.com/2011/09/21/diy-how-to-origami-paper-flower-bouquet/

I love your site - I've been using it as inspiration for months now, from before I was engaged. We won't be married until next year, but our anticipated most meaningful wedding detail is the location. We wanted to take people somewhere fun, small, where they'd be running into each other all weekend as they enjoyed the great outdoors. So we have chosen Catalina Island, a beautiful place owned by the Wrigley family, just 26 miles off the southern California coast. We can't wait to gather our friends and family around us to celebrate!

I am in the midst of wedding planning and I think my favorite detail so far is the sweet vintage stamps that I've bought to mail my invites out with. I also want to include a lot of paper in the decorations, similar to an Anthropologie store, ha ha! :) By the way, those photos are amazing (orchids have got to be one of my favorite flowers) as is Holly Stalder's collection. Dying for that bolero!

The most meaningful detail of our wedding were the songs we picked for our Mother/Son dance and Father/Daughter dances. Both songs exemplified our relationships withour parents and described us as individuals.
