Today’s wedding is sweet rustic perfection! Everything is so fresh and airy. I’m swooning over the lovely rosemary details, so charming!

The beautiful Laura shares some details:

The goal of our wedding was to carry our family and friends away on a weekend of country bliss- filled with lush green surroundings, nature and fresh air. We wanted our guests to get out of New York City and enjoy a complete country chic experience. The wedding itself, despite a tornado warning, was set to take place outside, under the swaying trees and stars. Our goal was to create an evening of simple but elegant pleasures.

David is very creative and I am very proud to say that he designed the most amazing wedding invitations for us as well as putting together our wedding website. He also created our Save the Dates – we had two and it was surprise element to see which one came in the mail. We worked together to put some personal elements into our wedding –our RSVP cards were “Mad-Libs.” Which were hilarious to receive back in the mail.

Our wedding favours were local juices from the area. Since my business focuses on fresh and local food, it was important to me to support the local farmers and provide our friends and family with something fresh and seasonal during the wedding.  In fact, the meal was a seasonal creation by John and Elizabeth Hamilton of the venue.  They used fresh herbs and vegetables from the gardens on the property and all the other ingredients came from local farmers. It was a truly memorable meal.

It was David’s grandmothers 85th birthday the day after our wedding so we had a special birthday cake presented to her during our ceremony. It was priceless to see her face filled with surprise when the cake came out.  That was an amazing moment in the evening.

The iPhone alert was priceless. Especially because it popped up as the groom was reading a 'to tie a tie' website. So fun. It was such a blast to shoot this wedding. Thanks for the feature!

I love that they used the rosemary as a decor element and tied it all the way through the wedding. And the centerpieces are beautiful!

Awe! We featured Laura and David's wedding last week, and I am so happy to see it again on your blog! They just had the sweetest details. I think my favorite is the juice they gave away as favors.

The rosemary adds such a sweet touch! And I am thrilled that they honored the b-day girl with a cake at their wedding! At my rehearsal dinner, we had about 4 friends that all had b-days within a week of each other...and one actually on our wedding day, but I ordered a big cake with all their names on it and we celebrated them! I think it is so important...although it is one of the biggest days of your life....to remember others and what is happening in theirs too! Adore the cake, the simple sweet table decor, the juice favors and local fresh veggies and such! Such a fabulous way to make it uniquely theirs.
